Week 1 Browns thoughts
September 15th 2009 16:37
To be honest, they didn't get blown out like I thought they would. There is still work that needs to get done if they are to ever start looking like a team that can win games on a given night. Yes, they played well in the 1st half without question. They were every bit as bad in the 2nd half as they were good in the first half.
Brady Quinn still has work to do in order to prove he can be the guy for Cleveland. He made some mistakes and has to keep learning each and every week. I stated I would support him if he got to be the starter and I am doing so. He didn't do bad in terms of yards passed and could have done without an interception and a fumble. Other than that, it wasn't great but not horrendous either. He was okay.
Mangini did take responsibility and said he is going to learn from it and did actually explain a bit more in detail. Obviously, he came off better than any conference Romeo Crennel had when it came to the team. To go back to Crennel, it's fair to say I think he was in over his head and not really prepared to be a head coach.
To be honest, there isn't a lot to be said that hasn't all ready been said. They have to figure out their mistakes as they go on to play the Broncos. That's a team that Cleveland has struggled with as of late or so it seems like.
Maybe they'll win and hopefully they just get some wins. They can't possibly get much worse. I wonder what's up with the idea of giving the Browns a difficult season opener and seems to be happen a lot. Until next time.
