Week 17 NFL Game Predictions

December 25th 2008 11:38
Ok this is the last week in the 2008 NFL Regular Season and an important week for some team’s playoff hopes. So I have compiled a list of Game Predictions for week 17 of the 2008 NFL season. I have been in football Office Pools for many years and won quite a few of them. These NFL Game Predictions contain no point spreads, just straight game picks of wins and losses.

Saint Louis at Atlanta

A dud of a team playing out the string heads to Atlanta and perhaps the NFL’s most surprising team of the 2008 Football Season. The Falcons will beat the Rams 24 to 10 to add another notch on their belt.

Chicago at Houston

The Bears need a win if they want to make the playoffs and Houston is an improved team playing for pride. I don’t think the Bears can beat them down there and the Texans win 27 to 21.

New York Giants at Minnesota

The Giants have home field advantage for the entire playoffs so they may rest some starters. The Vikings clinch the NFC North with a win and I think they will do that by beating the Giants 21 to 10.

Carolina at New Orleans

The Panthers are in the playoffs no matter what, but secure a first week bye with a win. The Saints are playing for pride and for Drew Brees to set the NFL single season passing yards record. The thing about the NFC South is that this season the home team has won every matchup. Until this week that is as the Panthers win 34 to 27.

Cleveland at Pittsburgh

The Browns are down to starting ball boys at Quarterback it seems and the Steelers will beat the mess out of them. Steelers 28, Browns 3.

Oakland at Tampa Bay

Oakland comes to Florida to play their old coach John Gruden. Tampa is out of the playoffs with a loss but they don’t have to worry about it. Tampa Bay is good at home and will win 24 to 10.

Tennessee at Indianapolis

The Titans are a tough football team and are coming off an emotional win over the Steelers. The Colts are on a big winning streak and are my Super Bowl Winner Prediction. The Colts will win 31 to 21.

Detroit at Green Bay

The Lions are trying to avoid being 0-16 which no other NFL team has ever done. The Packers are just wondering what the hell happened to their season. Here is my upset pick of week 17 of the 2008 NFL season. Detroit knocks off the Packers 21 to 17.

New England at Buffalo

The Patriots go to Buffalo to play a team that looked great then looked like crap. Buffalo seems to have faded away and the Pats will win 21 to 10,

Kansas City at Cincinnati

Two of the worst teams play in a meaningless game except maybe to coaches trying to keep their job. The hated Chiefs General Manger Carl Peterson is gone after this game and probably Herm Edwards as well. The Chiefs will win one for Herm 34 to 17.

Jacksonville at Baltimore

Rookie Head coach and Quarterback nevertheless, the Ravens are a good team and will beat the lethargic Jaguars 27 to 10.

Miami at the New York Jets

At the start of the season long time Jets Starter Chad Pennington was kicked to the curb for Prima Donna Brett Favre. Now Pennington leads the Dolphins into the Meadowlands for a showdown for the AFC East Title. If the Dolphins win they get the AFC East Title. If the Jets win and the Patriots lose then New York wins the title. Pennington gets his revenge and the Dolphins will beat the Jets 28 to 14.

Seattle at Arizona

The Seahawks suck but the Cardinals have not shown up since they clinched the terrible NFC West. They will this week and will be Seattle 34 to 14.

Washington at San Francisco

The Redskins announced that Jim Zorn will be back next season and the 49ers are close to saying the same about Mike Singletary. Talent will prevail and the Skins knock off the 49ers 24 to 10.

Dallas at Philadelphia

The most underachieving team in football goes to a hot Philadelphia team’s home field in a key playoff deciding game. Dallas is in the playoffs with a win and an Atlanta Loss (not happening) or some others things. For more info on playoff implications use this Yahoo Sports page that I went to for research for my week 17 NFL game Predictions. The Eagles get in with a win and some help as well. The Eagles will dog stomp the Cowboys 31 to 14 as Romo chokes again.

Denver at San Diego (Monday Night)

The Chargers and Broncos are playing for the right to lose to the Colts in the first round of the playoffs. Denver is just too beat up and the Chargers will squeak one out in a 24 to 21 victory.
