Week 2 assessment: The Cleveland Browns
September 17th 2011 14:26
In what probably shouldn't be considered a shock, they lost to the Bengals in the opening week. It seems to be a recurring theme. This week, it is going to be against the Colts. Now, you would think that it would be an easy victory for them considering that there is no Peyton Manning. However, do not expect it to be as such.
This is a franchise that probably is extremely impulsive on firing coaches and changing quickly. The results have been a disaster. The Colts are probably going to be going in a bit furious and in rage over what has happened. Given that and the fact that it seems like Cleveland keeps finding ways to lose, it would be no shock if they lost.
Before the season even began I looked at what I thought would be fair expectations. As of now, I still stand by that.
Colt McCoy is going to need a line to protect him and if he doesn't get that, then it's going to wind up in disaster. The only chance they have of winning would be that the Browns forget their role of being the resident punching bag of the league.
Can Peyton Hillis avoid injury? He is the man that's on the cover of Madden. He's going to be needed to give them a fighting chance with the running game.
Only time will tell on that matter. My gut just tells me that Cleveland is going to somehow find a way to lose.
