NFL Game Predictions for week 16 of the 2008 season
December 15th 2008 00:02
Welcome to my Game Picks for week 16 of the 2008 NFL season, and watch for my upset pick, I have been right two weeks in a row in predicting upset wins. Before I get to the NFL Game Predictions for week 16, a little about myself. I am a freelance writer who has a sports column for a local paper as well as a football website.
I have participated in Pro Football Office Pools for many years and did very well at winning them. I do straight NFL Game Picks with no point spreads involved. These predictions are geared towards office football pools. I hope you find this list of Game Picks for week 16 of the 2008 season helpful in picking in your football pool.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville on Thursday
The Jaguars managed to upset the Packers in week 15 but the Colts will be a different story. Indy will beat the Jaguars 24 to 10.
Baltimore at Dallas on Saturday
The Ravens have a very intense and nasty defense and an improving offense. Dallas looks great one week and like crap the next. One thing to keep in mind is that this is the last Regular Season NFL game in Texas Stadium. The Cowboys will desperately want to win the last game in their vaunted stadium. Dallas will win 17 to 14.
San Francisco at Saint Louis
Two bad teams with interim head coaches meet with the return of current 49er Isaac Bruce to his old stomping grounds in Saint Louis. When in doubt go with the home team and I predict that the Rams will win 27 to 14.
San Diego at Tampa Bay
The Chargers go an visit a very hard team to beat at home. After almost losing to the Chiefs, the Chargers show me nothing that says they will beat Tampa. The Bucs will win 21 to 14.
Arizona at New England
The Cardinals do not play well on the East Coast and have already wrapped up the NFC West Division. New England will knock them off 28 to 14.
Cincinnati at Cleveland
The Bengals are fresh off knocking off the Redskins in my upset pick from last week. They will have no problems with an injury depleted Browns squad, and will win 17 to 7.
Pittsburgh at Tennessee
The Titans have fallen back to earth of late and face what is probably the best defense in football. I think the Steelers will win this one 24 to 17.
Miami at Kansas City
Miami is fighting hard for a playoff berth and the Chiefs are just playing for pride. But I think the Chiefs will upset the Dolphins 34 to 24, in my NFL week 16 Upset Game Prediction.\
New Orleans at Detroit
The Lions are playing better of late and the Saints have pretty much ended their 2008 playoff hopes. But I think the Saints will still beat the Lions 24 to 7.
New York Jets at Seattle
The Jets are hot and cold and Seattle is actually coming off a win for a change. I think the Jets will win a close one 17 to 14.
Buffalo at Denver
The Bills have to travel a long way to play in Denver and I think that plane ride will hurt them. Denver will beat the Bills 34 to 17.
Houston at Oakland
The Texans pulled off a huge NFL upset with their win over Tennessee in week 15, and will be on a high. The Raiders are just playing out the string trying to get 2008 done with. Texans win 28 to 3.
Atlanta at Minnesota
This may be a very important game with NFC playoff implications. Atlanta keeps winning games they shouldn’t. But I think the Vikings are getting hot at the right team and will win 27 to 24.
Philadelphia at Washington
The Skins have tanked after a fast start and coach Jim Zorn is feuding with their best player, Clinton Portis. The Eagles will smoke the skins 34 to 14.
Carolina at the Giants
Some believe this will be a preview of the NFC Championship game and this may decide home field advantage in the 2008 NFL playoffs. Both teams rely on stiff defense and a strong running game. I think the Panthers are on a roll at the right time and will knock off the Giants 21 to 17.
Green Bay at Chicago on Monday Night
The Packers looked good early in the season before tanking. The Bears have been pretty consistent in the 2008 NFL season. Pick the Bears in your office pool as they will win 17 to 9.
