Ok it may show my millions (ok dozens) of readers that I am just a sports dork. But I have a job that allows me to listen to the radio all day. And I choose to listen to WFNZ a sports radio station out of Charlotte North Carolina.
I am a listener rather than a participant most of the time and don’t phone in or email or anything. I know I have mentioned the station in other posts here at Footballdogz.com. But I finally become a participant by sending a text message to one of the shows.
Radio Host Chris McClain has a show called “The Mac Attack” on WFNZ. Often during the show listeners will send in funny emails and claim to be some sports figure or another.
The Mac Attack was talking about obnoxious fans who make you hate the team that they pull for. Chris McClain has a reputation of being a “Homer” for the Panthers and being their number one fan so to speak. For example the more fans bust on Julius Peppers, the more Mac defends him.
So during the obnoxious fan segment I sent a text message saying “ Dear Mac you mate me hate the Panthers- Love John Fox” . Fox of course is the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. Apparently the message was a hit as Mac read it on the air less than 5 minutes after I sent it. I am such a dork that it put me in a good mood the rest of the day and I bragged about it to my friends (both of em).
I highly recommend you checking out the station online or on the radio if you live in the Carolinas.
