Why this is a critical year for Cleveland

Last season saw the Browns go 10-6, with 10-5 being with Anderson taking over after Frye got released pretty much being declared a bust. As I will state for the record, I really don't take pre-season that seriously because it means nothing and doesn't dictate how you're going to do in the regular season. I talked a bit about how this season is important in a different blog and I'll give you the reference.
Importance of this Season
There is a reason why I consider this year to be very critical for Cleveland. Look at the NFL schedule for the Browns and you could see why. The Browns are facing off with eight teams that made the post-season last year. There are going to be expectations set that they are supposed to be contenders for the AFC North and be able to challenge the Steelers. Last season by virtue of the record, they were tied for first though only the Steelers got in on the count of the head-to-head match ups. The Browns are due for a victory over the rival Steelers.
If this season turns into complete failure, I can expect perhaps Coach Romeo Crennel could see himself out the door and the GM may get the boot but that's a tough call. He's been the coach and just recently got an extension after the 10-6 season so it's going to be a tough one for him to prove that last season was no fluke whatsoever.
Going into the game with Dallas, it's going to be critical to really get on the ball and not stumble out of the gate. While it may not directly say what will happen the rest of the way, it could however have an impact and a perception that maybe this team isn't strong against tougher opponents. Looking at their NFL schedule, it's going to be match ups with teams who made the playoffs last season.
I do not consider the Browns favorites so much given the history of this team since returning to the league. If a string of victories can go on, only time can tell what will truly happen. Do not expect the Super Bowl so soon as that maybe if and only if the season goes well can be within two seasons perhaps.
Do not have high expectations but each victory can be important for later on as the same can be said for a regular season loss. 10 wins may not be enough but if they dominate the division, there is a chance of a playoff berth and going from there.
It's critical mainly because of how last season went and their schedule on paper is tougher than last years. May the Browns do well and not be knocked down several pegs after looking like a promising team.
