Dallas trades for Roy Williams in a busy week

October 14th 2008 23:50
It has been a busy week for the Cowboys. Tony Romo, Felix Jones along with Sam Hurd and punter McBriar going down with injures. Pacman Jones suspended at least 4 games for fighting with the guy the Cowboys hired to keep him from fighting.

Remember the Hershel Walker trade where the Cowboys traded him to the Vikes for a crapload of players and picks? Well what goes around comes around. The Cowboys got screwed by the Detroit Lions.

Roy Williams a disgruntled bust of an unproductive wide receiver comes to Dallas for a first round pick, plus a third and a sixth. And he is a free agent after this season and could sign with whoever is dumb enough to sign him. So the Cowboys traded away three important draft picks for a player who may play half a season. He has to come in and learn the offense and catch footballs from a 40 year old backup until Romo recovers.

Of course maybe Dallas knows something about Roy Williams that I don’t. Possibly they worked out a silent deal to redo his contract for more years. And of course Williams is one of those “Friday Night Lights” Texans who attended that high school and the University of Texas. Maybe a homecoming to a better team than the Lions will get Roy Williams on track. I just hope TO’s ego can handle him being a Cowboy.

I think the Cowboys could have possibly got a corner for those picks. With Newman injured and Jones suspended, it would have made more sense. Then again if a team finds a quality corner they tend to hold onto them.

Just to show I know my stuff I will leave in where I suspected that Williams would work a new contract. It is now being reported by profootballtalk.com that he is extending his contract through 2013.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
I wonder if the Cowboys are cheering the shafting Detroit gave them for Williams

I look at this and the deal with Pacman Jones and have to wonder where Jerry Jones is coming from! Why does he pick up these kinds of players and I wonder if he's sold his soul to the devil in an effort to make a winner. I seldom look at owners but, I think this guy has a problem!

He is a less nutso version of Al Davis. At least Davis USED to know football.
